Cabinet to pay bonuses only to true Heroes of Ukraine

As of Dec. 1, bearers of the Hero of Ukraine medal will start receiving government bonuses, Premier Tymoshenko said Nov. 30, addressing a conference on social protection of miners and veterans. "I  will act on my word and, as of Dec. 1, start paying you extra bonuses, rather substantial bonuses,” she remarked. 
Heroes of Ukraine and Heroes of Labor will get even bigger bonuses, Tymoshenko assured. However, there are many bearers of this medal who are part of the apparat. These officials get salaries 10 times higher than coal miners, she added. They won’t be paid any bonuses. Among the latter, she noted former fuel and energy minister Yury Boiko who, Tymoshenko stressed, robbed Ukraine using fraudulent schemes to supply gas via corrupt middleman RosUkrEnergo.
Recall, on Sept. 15 Premier Tymoshenko pledged to pay monthly bonuses to Heroes of Ukraine as of 1020.
