Tymoshenko will win without another Maidan, her legal expert assures

Speaking to Glavred Nov. 13, a BYT lawmaker, Volodymyr Pylypenko, says he believes Yulia Tymoshenko will not have to call another multi-day rally in Maidan in Kyiv, like the Orange parties did in 2004, to affirm her victory in the forthcoming presidential election.«We will defend our victory only within the legal framework and by lawful means. Our legal experts are quite ready to do this. There are many techniques to fight electoral fraud occurring in the course of the campaign, not after the final tally has been announced», the lawmaker said.
There won’t be any problems to find the winner. Under the law, the Central Election Commission must release one protocol recognizing one person as winner. If the final tally is contested, the only court for such appeals is the Supreme Administrative Court. I am convinced there won’t be two or three presidents at the same time, Pylypenko stressed.
He praised the existing presidential election law and spoke against changing it now. «The current law allows to run the election in a clean way. Given any changes are made, the law may be put out of balance», he warned.
