Pynzenyk resigned because of pressure from Yushchenko – Volodymyr Polokhalo

"It often happens that an official resigns, being unable to withstand extreme conditions, and cracks under pressure,” this is how a BYUT lawmaker and political expert Volodymyr Polokhalo commented to ZIK Feb. 12 on Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk’s resignation.“There was no pressure on Pynzenyk from the cabinet. He resigned due to extremely hard conditions caused by the world financial recession and unprecedented destructive anti-government activities by the president and his office,” the expert said.
Polokhalo believes the activities by the president and central bank leaders played a crucial role in Viktor Pynzenyks decision to resign.
The finance minister could not also withstand the burden of responsibility in the conditions of deep recession. “In his position we need a crisis manager, a person with the nerves of steel,” Polokhalo added.
He couldn’t name any candidates to take over from Pynzenyk, saying the issue has not been discussed by the BYUT faction yet.
