Two construction companies vied for a tender in 2008 to build a new children sports school on 1 Vahnyanyn St. One of the companies was the Oleh Luzhny Sports Development Foundation. The other was Kulchytsky’s company. The project was worth about 8 million euro.
There exist several versions why Kulchytsky was murdered. One of them is turf wars among crime syndicates. The other, more plausible, is fierce competition among construction companies. The police are bent to investigate the other scenario, Lviv Sheriff Ihor Tsikalo says. He dismissed the allegations that Ihor Kulchytsky belonged to mafia.
