According to the media reports, Pres George Bush said Ukraine military and political leaders believe the appearance of nukes in Ukraine highly plausible, as Ukraine has means of delivery (tactical aviation), nuclear know-how and enough plutonium to produce several nuclear warheads, Russian Line report runs.

Leonid Hrach continues: “Recently, Zbigniew Brzhezinski, a notorious advocate of Russia’s confinement by heating up Ukraine-Russia relationships, issued a statement in which he says Russia won’t withdraw its troops from Crimea. Given this fact, he continues, without a strong army Ukraine would not be able to be on equal footing with Russia, Hruch says.

“This kind of verbiage on the part of leading American experts and politicians has provoked some pro-American Ukrainian politicians into talking hardball with Russia, making openly anti-Russian and Russophobe statements,” the Ukrainian Communist claims

“Your Excellency, I beg you to clarify whether the lack of any negative reaction on the part of the US Administration to Ukraine re-accession to its former nuclear status signifies a change in the US position vis-а-vis the spread of nuclear weapons. As a rule, the US Administration has used tough measures against countries suspected of secretly producing nuclear, chemical or bacteriological weapons,” L. Hruch says in his letter.

“Let me know, please, what steps the US Government is going to take against those Ukrainian politicians and military who opt for returning the nuclear status to Ukraine, let alone secretly hiding mass destruction weapons contrary to international commitments undertaken by Ukraine and the United States. I would also like to know whether the US Government opts for deterioration of relations between Russia and Ukraine,” L. Hruch questions.

 “Your official reply will be crucial, especially in the light of mounting Russophobe and anti-Russian feelings propped up by the present Ukrainian regime,” the Communist lawmaker says.
