In July, remains of Roman Shukhevych’s mother to be reburied in Lviv

Lviv oblast executive committee voted today to give a go-ahead for the reburial of the remains of Yevhenia Shukhevych in the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv. She was buried in Kazakhstan, ZIK reports.Lychakiv cemetery Director Ihor Havryshkevych told ZIK that the Kazakh authorities also gave the permission for the reburial of Roman Shukhevych mother in Lviv.
Lviv oblast state administration was approached by the Institute of National Memory and Yevhenia Shukhevych grandson Yury for helping to resolve the issue of reburiel. The reburial can take place within 2-3 weeks. We have the support of Ukraine foreign ministry and pres Yushchenko. The incumbent is expected to meet the remains on their arrival in Ukraine, I. Havryshkevych said.
The Shukhevych family insisted on footing the bill for the reburial, although the administration offered to allocate funding from the oblast budget. The reburial will cost $1,000.
