United Center party to offer chairmanship to Speaker Yatseniuk

Pavlo Andrusiak, a local oblast council deputy, assured that UC will present its first action plan to voters – with specific deadlines, tasks, goals and expectations. The statement is viewed as a bid by UC to reach out to the public, officials and mass media.

Fighting corruption is high on the UC agenda, Andrusiak assured. In foreign policy, UC will side with Pres Yushchenko’s course for Ukraine’s integration in the EU and NATO.

Pavlo Andrusiak said UC’s rayon and city branches are in the making. The name of the new party leader will be known after the party’s convention due July 12. There’s a high probability that UC will be headed by Speaker Arseny Yatseniuk, Andresiuk indicated.
