New Lviv oblast land chief is son-in-law of ex-KGB general

Ukraine’s State Committee for Land Reserves chief told me that my successor will be a decent man. When I learned who Zavhur was, being a Ukrainian nationalist, I was shaken: Dmytro Zavhur is son-in-law of Gen. Stanislav Malik, former Soviet KGB head in the Lviv oblast known for his notorious record in 1989-1990. -
Malik started lists of Ukrainians for resettlement to Siberia. There are witnesses who remember how Malik bragged about shooting Ukrainian partisans in the Carpathian mountains during and after WWII. That is why I strongly opposed Zavhur’s appointment,” former head of Lviv oblast land reserves department Mykola Pshevlotsky told in a press conference March 25.
Another reason why Pshevlotsky is against Zavhur’s appointment is that the new land chief professionally has had nothing to do with the land use.

Earlier, Mykola Pshevlotsky told that Dmytro Zavhur graduated from a KGB college in Moscow.
March 7, Mykola Pshevlotsky was dismissed by the State Committee on Land Reserves. March 9, deputy head of SCLR Yury Oleksienko signed Dmytro Zavhur’s appointment as new Lviv oblast land department chief.
